A butt joint is where
two pieces are connected together in an L shape, shown here. Alumaloy
can be used to repair this type of a joint. The ends are beveled and
brought together. Follow tinning procedure, stroking both surfaces of the
joint ( with tinned groove ) with Alumaloy.
